Hi All,
Car TV agency Vantage Star Cars is working with the new prequel for TV series Underbelly to be aired on Channel 9 next year. The producers are currently looking for the following cars for various half day shoots (approx 3 hrs) in SYDNEY during the first 2 weeks of December. 1970 to 1979 Vans or Wagons (including panelvans). They are looking for Fords (and other makes) that could be an emergency vehicle, media van or stakeout van. They will also look at things like F100s with a canopy and regular station wagons. Vehicles need to be in good condition (at least from a distance). Most will only be driven a couple of meters or parked in scenes. Fee will vary depending on where, when and how long your vehicle is needed. Fees will be from $150 to $500 per vehicle per day. Owners are welcome to be on set to watch filming and in some cases drive while filming. If you or someone you know has a suited vehicle that could be made available we would love to hear from you/them. Please email your details and a photo of the vehicle to - admin@vantagemanagement.com.au . Look forward to hearing from you, Shan Railton Vantage Management Head Office - 02 9913 9596 National - 1300 858 248 shan@vantagemanagement.com.au www.vantagemanagement.com.au Cars - Locations - SportsPeople - RealPeople for TV and Film |

Yeah, pity. A Bedford would be great. Still looking by the way. Wagons, Panelvans, Vans and Utes with a canopy. Please email over a pic if you are interested.

Would have thought that "underbelly" or pre-underbelly era would have VK's / VL's, XF's EA's etc etc
Not 70's stuff..?? Confused. |

Its set in the period of 76 - 82. My XB has already been used in filming. It was a great experience.

Yep, anything in the late 70s, early 80s is on the money. Lots of great cars been used in the filming already, still looking for a few more.

Ok, now I'm really confused. Not about the filming of the cars, just the era of it.
If it's the late 70's era heading into early 80's, are we talking about the Moran's and all the others, up and coming years? Just that I thought "underbelly" was late 80's (walsh street murders era on) till 2000's. I know a bit about it, as I was on a court case (indirectly related to Victor Pierce) and I worked with one of the relations of one of the cops in the Walsh Street stuff. They must be filming a bit earlier than what I would have expected. I just hope us "Victorians" can see this one.........Argh the irony again. |

Yeah, they are filming the early years and pitching it as a prequel. A look back at how it all started.
Kind of like they did with Star Wars.

I know of a 1977 Holden Statesman and a Volkswagen Karman Ghia Mk 1 that can be made available for filming.
The Staty is in good nick the Ghia is a bit scabby. A Statesman would be just the sort of “Maltese Mercedes” that a cashed up bogan drug lord would swan around in.

“Maltese Mercedes” - nice one...
We have a good range of sedans at the moment, we are looking for vans and wagon only currently. There are 5 more episodes to shoot early next year so we may be looking for others then. Will start a new post if this is the case.
