Nah, that's OK mate.

I know about that TFT thing, the monitors at work are exactly the same.

I don't mind. Just bear in mind that the flash will make it all look very bright but I'll do my best

**DONE** - Best I can do for the moment I'm afraid because I'm in the middle of cooking. I'll give it another go tomorrow if the sun comes out because it's a bit dark out now.

Glenn - If you want to know if you can see it - you can. There are brightness and contrast controls, but even with mine set at 50 for each (on a 0 to 100 scale), it is just as visible during the day as it is at night.

Good deal Krissy!

Just a question on the DVD player (my brother in law is interested in one) - how does it cope with MP3s? Does it play an MP3 CD almost straight away, or does it take ages (I had one that took 10 minutes to load!).

Also, does it play all regions DVD, and does it play copy DVDs (legal ones of course - ie you keep the original at home).

The FM modulator takes the RCA plugs from your PS2 for the audio out and converts it to an FM signal, which connects in between your aerial and CD tuner. You tune it in to one of 2 or 4 stations (usually around FM88.3 or so), so you get the sound through your current CD tuner & speakers.

If you get an inverter, make sure it's at least 300W, Like this one: 300W Inverter . I actually have this one in my XR8 and it works great.

F_K - sorry for making your thread a tutorial!

Why does one need such a big inverter? 40 bucks from super cheap for the 150w will run the PS2 or Xbox forever no problems.. mine has been running for about 2 months now... no problems... why spend more if you dont need too???

Cheers guys..
P.s ANyone interested in an install feel free to PM me at any time i will let you know how i go!! cheers...

Sorry mate I hadn't been keeping an eye on the thread but I think I answered this in a PM recently IIRC. Now, about the region 1's and copies ... yeah mine works fine, no problems.

Yes - all answered. They're pretty good little units for not much money! I don't think Rmyers and co would like them though (not unless you put a $1500 price tag and "Fusion" on them)! LOL

Installed the in dash screen (same as Krissy's) so thought I should chuck a pic up. (AC/DC showing on the screen).

My newest addition to the XR8 - a DVD player with amp preouts, RCA audio out and FM transmitter/modulator. I connected it using the RCA outs, into an FM modulator I already had installed (for X box). Had nowhere to mount it that was out of view and accessible to me, until I came up with this idea:

Works well, and sends pictures to both screens (Video1), and audio to the radio through FM88.3 Also has an Aux input as well as other audio input, so I have the XBox sound going into the DVD player now and then to radio. XBox video goes to Video2 on each of the screens.
