So the 2.5T is not available as of roughly now, but the replacement engine is not ready to go yet and wont get here until 2011? Ford really need to get the 2.2TD out here.

One of the things that makes the XR5 the XR5, is the torque. It makes the car (which is quite heavy) extremely drivable, not to mention extremely fun.

Not sure the 2.0T will have the same driving characteristics.

Does this also mean that the whole Mondeo range will now be auto only? If its is, that is a real disappointment.

The Ecoboost engines use small turbos and direct injection and produce lots of torque from about 1500 rpm. So I don't think lack of torque will be an issue.

But it looks like there will be different power outputs. It appears that the Mondeo will get a 150 kW engine, but the Falcon Ecoboost will have 180 kW. Would be great if there is a performance Mondeo with the more powerful engine but I suspect that it won't happen due to the Euro focus on reducing CO2 emissions.

I guess this comes from a company (talking about Ford Aus here) that has made a loss for 3-4 years.. I think they are finally now making a profit, so they are trying to protect this I guess.. Loss making businesses always try to play safe. I'd say it is not about aggressively attaching the market, but safe profit core business making decisions.

Do those in the "know", know if Titianium will come out in Wagon??

Not sure. Would be crazy to offer 1 type of box. It would affect sales and limit the type of buyer who may be attracted to the Mondeo.

This is great news. High spec, auto, diesel wagon. Ticking all the right boxes for me.
I was thinking about a Skoda RS TDi wagon, but it falls down on some specs.
