im guessing its not a problem because of its bigger durations it wouldnt need the bigger shims behind the lifters

I was under the impression that you were suppose to add those shims to the ones already in there to compensate for the fact that the cam has been reground (unless you got a new billet one).

If you use too many shims then the valve won't close fully and the car will run like crap, to little and you will get the ticking sound. Wade 1004's regrinds are suppose to use the 2 shims, that should get you pretty close to the required preloads specs.

i have 2 shims installed per lifter, my question is does it matter if one set of shims is slightly smaller than the other?
the car goes fine, minimal ticking noise as all ea's do a lil, lol
cheers

No the different sizes shouldn't matter, as long as it doesn't tick too much or run like crap you should be fine.
