:( Cheap thrashable cars are always the most fun. I hated ripping up 19 inch tyres and getting rubber on my shiny new paint.

In the EB on the other hand :Up_to_som

Thats awesome, suprising to hear it doesn't go aswell as ur V8.
but didnt it say the extra injector setup wasnt working properly?
get it on a dyno with a decent computer in it and it'll be laughing

Nice buy dude, I too would have thought it would go better than an NC V8. Probably just needs a tune up. Have fun with it.

I wouldn't push it too hard without that extra injector working....it could lean out and BOOM, blown engine.

Wow. Good to see a forum member got it too.

One thing I noticed was the intercooler looks a bit on the smallish side, are you going to get that recoed or go a new one?

Fully sick.

Good to see someone on the forums ended up buying it, I was hoping Dan would though! It's definitely one of those models up there with the Brock and SVO EA's, and would restore very nicely.

If I got it I'd be taking it back to manual and fixing up the Microfueler. That Microfueler is exactly the same as mine, when I was hunting for one a few popped up for around $250. Just browse around a couple of forums and you should find one.

FYI, that is one of those original AIT/Steve Inall turbo kits, not that any of you didn't already know. They weren't a 'factory' setup as everyone thinks, just a professional and well done after-market kit. Steve Inall was trusted with a EA motor months before the EA was even released so he could do all the fabrication work of the manifold and lines etc.

They put out 195kW @ ~4200RPM at the flywheel on 6PSI, and a Wheels test car that was running 5PSI (was stuffing up on the test day like all EA turbo's) did a 14.7 down the quarter. That's 5 speed with a 2.92, so there's heaps of potential there.

They were all built to comply with emissions etc. so that's the best part.

The kits retailed for $5100 for a manual and $5900 for a auto, fully fitted, back in '89. I think the price included a full suspension setup as well, but I can't remember the details off the top of my head.

Either way, good luck with it!

Pfft should have let me buy it!!

Some aftermarket kits had the other speedo some didnt. I think it depended on where the kit came from.
