Thanks,

I shot him an email this morning and he got back to me straight away. He's on a deadline this week so he couldnt confirm which issue it was but advised he would get straight back to me when he could. Was very impressed to be honest.

Thanks for the offer Dave, appreciate it. I'm wanting a copy to keep for my own collection - found two on evilbay even though the prices are ridiculous.

I'm in the process of getting as much stuff on Sprints as I can as I'm looking at putting together an archive and possibly a information website on them.
It doesnt surprise me when I have had my previous Sprint at car shows or on club runs with other non ford car clubs that people dont know what they are.

There's also alot of miss information on the cars, alloy heads etc.

Intercepter has done a great job of trying to put together a registery and I guess I want to contribute to letting people know the truth about these cars and how great they really are.

Mate, that would be so awesome. Even if I can get scans for the website, I will still try and get my own personal copies just for the sake of collecting them. Im currently in the process of requesting permission from Unique Cars to place articles on the website I want to develop. Will be doing the same for any future articles just to be on the safe side of copyright.

I know exactly how you feel mate, I cant ever imagine selling mine either, I was spewing when I sold the last one. Your Sprint looks sweet as mate, you've done a great job of keeping her in such good nic

That is so true. I hate it when you tell people you have a Sprint, and they say whats that?
I remember in 1995, I went to a Ford dealer and I asked the salesman, "do you have any XR8 Sprints."
His reply was "what's that?"

Sounds good Rich what you're doing mate.

I've also got a heap of mags/info/press releases etc. that may be of interest to you.

Why the fixation with bunky ol' cars like Sprints? Why would you bother owning one of these cars, let alone modifying one???............

Some people think that oldschool cars like XY's or mustangs that don't steer / don't stop / don't handle are the duck's nuts.

Others love their ricer racers with shopping lists of stickers plastered up the sides.

Not forgetting the cutlunch commando's that wanna destroy the environment in their 'eco friendly' monster truck 4wd's.

Or the hairdressers in their latte sipping handbags on wheels.

If people decide they want to be an e-mutant, & play around with the 'origins' of modern day efi - More power to them.

Who are we, as car enthusiasts that have chosen a marginally different "fetish" to be judging any other car enthusiast's vehicle of desire? Appreciate it for the differences, the workmanship & the passion, & leave the hate for elsewhere..

Even the official FORD press brochures claimed that "the Sprint came with plenty of stick. Namely the Ford GT40 5.0 Cleveland V8".

Can't be too harsh on the press.

I'm sure it is, I know the owner is just as much the enthusiast as I am. I know it went to a very good home.

Cheers for the offer TE, its issue number 10. I've managed to get a copy in good nick. T-series are a good car, certainly nothing wrong with preferring them over Sprints.

Yeah I remember reading that in the brochure lol. I think it was established on here at some stage that it was called that because the windsor engine plant was shut down and they where then made in the cleveland engine plant?? Correct me if I'm wrong
