Hello everyone.
I’m looking at an EL Fairmont Ghia on the weekend and I was wondering if someone could please help me by telling me where I need to look to find the VIN and engine numbers of the vehicle? I need to perform a REVS check, so this information is important to me. Thanks in advance. |

Engine number on my car is just under the exhaust manifold under the runner for piston #1. Should be the same for EL

vin and manufacturer plate should both be near the passenger bonnet hinge.
engine number is driver side on the block around #1 piston as said.

Engine number isn't behind water pump/under #1 plug on EL. It's stamped on the back of the engine block on a flat bit, in the middlish, right near where it connects to the bellhousing. Take a rag and spray some degreaser or water on the back, wipe the crap off and you should be sweet.
Always consult your owner's manual for advice, not FordForums : Get it right damn yaz. Sundeep |
