Default Poll, ford/tv and advertising.

I'm pretty keen too get some sort of coldish hard facts from around here about ONE area of advertising potential that SO many punters claim Ford misses out on big time.
Now please....this is not a discussion on alternative advertising, as those in the know are well aware of fords global swing to alternate modern techniques!

Just stick to whether or not you watch ads on tv or other formats!

My personal vote went to havnt watched tv adds for many years!

This seems like a bit of a "loaded" poll. I do and I don't watch ads. If an advert that appeals to my interests comes on (i.e. Ford advert), I'll take notice, otherwise I won't.

You've either got - a) one who never watches ads, or b) one who always watches ads. I fit in between.

I watch very little TV. What I do watch, the PVR records and I skip the ads.

The only ads I do watch (often I'm forced to) are ads before YouTube clips, and ads on the assorted Networks streaming services (Ten Play, ABC iView etc)

I tune out the adds when they come on so it takes something particularly attention grabbing to make me look up or stop channel surfing and take notice. So basically I haven't watched adds for years.

Off topic: Google for AdBlock Plus. Greatly improved my browsing experience, pages load faster as the ads don't load, it's free, uses very little system resources, kills those annoying YouTube ads in their tracks, supports most popular browsers, can be easily turned off for individual sites you visit.

On topic: I've only got FTA, I either get out of the chair and find something else to do, or channel surf. I find most ads insulting to my intelligence or irrelevant to my needs. In two years I've bought two things as a result of TV advertising: A Nicer Dicer Plus (3am infomercial) and a home phone internet bundle - that was a bargain, only ever get a bill of $30 per month for home phone and none for internet. Someone obviously forgot to bundle it!

Cheers!

Anyone who turns a TV on, watches add. People saying they haven’t seen TV adds in years are just plain kidding themself.

And before you all reply saying "I don’t", I don’t care what you say as I don’t believe you!!

i do watch the telly , but usually im tuned out because 90 % of the time the box is repeats or garbage tv(such a load of crap these days) , also tuned out to not take any notice of the adds unless it is something that is interesting....... which is very rare, and a lot of the time i have my note 2 glued to my hand looking at stuff on the net, so no don't see many adds.

I don't watch much commercial TV, because it's crap, mostly, but if I see car ads, I've found them to all be pretty much the same now. All they talk about is technology in the cabin, but nothing about anything else. Some hot chick zipping around city streets easily finding a carpark outside the café, seems to be about the limit of car ad creativity these days.

The ads talk about lifestyle (camping, zipping to cafes, etc) rather than car features. All of the car ads are non-specific to the features of the model they are trying to sell, and could equally apply to any other car as well. That's why they are so crap. There are no differentiating points at all.

I remember a Nissan one last year about some hipster driving his pregnant wife to hospital and timing the trip. Gee, you couldn't do that in any other car than a Nissan. Absolute rubbish ad.

I'd say the whole car industry is getting ripped off by the advertising industry these days.

I used to skip through the crap shows to watch the Ads.

That was until Ford stopped advertising the Falcon, now I don't bother watching at all.

The last time I watched TV ads was on Youtube when an absolute GOD managed to upload all the old ads from the 90s I remember as a kid.

"have you, have you, have you driven a Fooooord lately?"

It's early on but still interesting that despite not catering for everyone's situation(sorry about that, not the best thought out poll ever).....it seems to be showing roughly 50/50 split between those who do or don't watch TV advertisements. Interesting!

You can read it that way if you wish...but it's the vote that covers all the points the poll is not looking for........things like trolls......people hating on ford or other things, not all bad. Otherwise there'd be far too many choices. Simple is better.

I listen to radio, and the only ford ad's are for the local dealer.. nothing more nothing less.

as for the poll, its a loaded statement type.
