brake light switch on the brake pedal has most likely failed.
its fairly common for them to die after a while, not a hard job to change, infact when mine first died, ford changed mine for free. (+ the price of the switch itself)

Like suggested, if your fuses are fine and the parker lights turn on without blowing the fuse then it's most likely the brake switch.

No, no, no. Don't go to your ford dealer. I bought my first brake switch from them and it was $50 odd bucks. Go to Repco, $9.60. Takes 2mins to change and req no tools. Just push your seat back and look at the brake pedal. Find the wiring (L plug) and disconnect. Pull out the spring pin (it will be tough but try and rotate it 90 degress laterally). The switch then slides off. Watch carefully how it comes off with one thick washer (blue plastic, one thin washer with lip made of black plastic). Put the new one on and hey presto all done!

As I said definately go to repco. $9.60 is an excellent price. And they look identical. Spend the 30-40 bucks your saving on something else.
