Default Where to have Instruments re-set???

Hey Guys. I have recently purchased a xr instrument cluster for my EL. Does anyone know where i can have the odometer re-set to the actual mileage???

The one i purchased has lower mileage, but my service book says otherwise and as i will selling the vehicle soon i think it may look dodgey. (not think, it does) but im a fairly honest person, so.

Why did you buy a new cluster if you are selling the car soon?

Default something to do

Something to do, I have been looking for one for a while, i like the xtra instruments and i havent sold the car yet.

If i cant get it changed, then i will just remove it b4 i sell the vehicle.

It's probably more time and effort than its worth if youre selling the car, as not only would you have to reset the kms, but youd also have to add in sensors and wiring to make the oil pressure and battery voltage gauges work.
VDO are the people to contact if you want the kms reset though - you'll most likely have to send it to them along with proof of your cars actual mileage. Ford used to be able to do it on their WDS however i dont think they're allowed to now.

Ford Dealers can usually re-set speedos, ring and ask them. Providing it is electronic.

To swap the odometer readings from one cluster to another is easy...

There is a good explanation of it HERE on Fordmods.com

Basically you have to swap over one small EEPROM, simple as that...as long as you are half decent with a soldering iron...and it cant be an el cheapo Dick Smith one for this job though!

Yep, a good soldering iron and a steady hand is another method. You only get one shot at it though!

$40 for an oil pressure sender from Ford?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Try $98, unless the EB one is different.
