Bit of an odd comparo in some aspects. Funny how i was reading it and seen what they were judged in i think the winner is each aspect was correct. Its good there is a 4 pot mustang to appeal to a broader audience but id never own one it would have to be a V8. Looking forward to new RS though :yummy

Agreed, i thought it was weird to compare the two but ready through each section I tended to agree with the result. Good for Ford anyway, two outstanding cars.
The RS will just take it to the next level!

Now given you have staunchly defended FWD for years its interesting to see old thoughts on what "should be" get challenged. If you didnt need 4 doors why would you but the focus IMO?

As for 4 pot mustang, as I said I'm glad Ford have it. I just wouldn't buy one I'd prefer a V8. I have nothing against it though. The ecoboost is a great engine.

Interesting comparing two very different cars, they don't even share the Ford Badge!
But when you think about the targeted or typical Buyer. I can see why they would be cross shopped.

Strange comparison.
The Focus ST really is under rated. It is a brilliant little machine. As mentioned above the RS is the next level ( I think more ). Now if only we had a 4 car garage we'd have an RS and Mustang GT, my work car, and the misuses little jigga ! |

Good read
i had trouble choosing between the focus rs and the mustang gt,after talking to a few ford dealers a discovered i could not test drive either at that time, told to just order one or the other and wait. i looked at the fg xr8 but besides that engine the rest of the car felt dated. i ended up test driving a focus st and was very impressed ,great car for the money.now i am a proud owner of one in moondust silver and thinking what this would be like with 80 odd more kws and awd=awsome, might have to order that rs and just wait it out. |

Ask yourself who buys a Mustang, then who Buys a Focus ST.
you could throw in a WRX too, or a Harley I recon, the same Demographic. so I can see why this odd comparison is made
