Default Mobil 1 ATF

Anyone know where I can get Mobil 1 ATF transmission oil in Melbourne?

I've tried Autobarn, Supercheap and Bursons, but none of them have it :(

I know I can get it on ebay, but I don't want to wait a week if I can help it.

Yeh I wasn't too keen to order it online due to waiting time.

Anyhow, took the plunge and went with the Penrite ProGear 70w75. This is on the Tremec 3650.

I previously had this scratchy / rustling noise in 5th gear at crusing. I tried Mobil 1 ATF and Castrol DEX III, filling it at 3L, 3.3L 3.8L etc using all sorts of combination (although never tried filling it to the top with Mobil 1 ATF, hence why I wanted to try) but the noise would still eventually come back, especially after giving the car a bit of a kicking.

So far the Penrite is quiet as anything, even after giving it a kicking for the last hour. Only downside is that the shift from 1 to 2 is a little bit more notchy than the Mobil 1 ATF and Castrol DEX III. I'll live it if the noise never comes back.

I know Wikipedia cannot be relied on 100% but this maybe of interest https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tremec..._Fill_Capacity

"Mal Wood Automotive, an official authorised Tremec distributor in Australia, have consistently recommended use of Castrol Transmax Z[2] for use in the Australia Ford vehicles"

Yeh that's outdated info unfortunately. I rang Mal and he now recommends any DEX III. Castrol changed their Transmax Z formula and is now not suitable.

He also recommend fill to the plug hole, whereas I've seen ford come out with a TSB saying fill to 3L only to improve shifting.

Too much info and combinations for the same box :P

Hmmmm still not completely happy with the Penrite. This morning it was making noise at idle (which it never does) and was crunching into gears excessively.

Have now ordered Mobil 1 ATF. Will trying filling up to the plug hole and hopefully that gives the result I'm after.
