If the exhuast is good, block it, should stall it.
Otherwise rip a battery lead off. Then see what happens if it still does it.

or block the CAI....how much fuel do you have left - lol
What would cause this? Bad ignition connections? I thought that it only happened in Carbi cars (Mech. Fault)

Sticking relay is my guess, either fuel pump or ECU.

it now works fine go figure....so sticking relay is probably most likely. i'll take it to ford...it's still under warranty. but i've got limited confidence in them after they serviced my automatic transmission.....my ute's a manual....but the service manager stood there and told me that his mechs had serviced the auto, and that it was written on the job sheet, so it must have been done, and how dare i accuse his team of queing parts etc that hadn't been done. i actually had to take him out to the ute and open the door and go....well i recken that there are 3 pedals down there....and i reckon that that is a manual stick....last time i went ot school i could count to 3, and lst time i was in an auto they onle have 2 pedals....so i reckon i've got a manual hey mate.....
he went very very red and appologised profusely. sometimes i wonder. |

I had the exact same problem. The fault was the ignition key barrel was jamming "ON" so I had to remove the barrel and give it and the barrel tube a good dose of "INOX" spray to loosen and free everything up. It worked perfectly after that and hasn't happened since. (about 12 months ago) touch wood. Also mine is an auto and to stop it I just removed the IAC connector. |
