Default 3.23 lsd diff

hey i got quated $350 for a 3.23 lsd diff from the wreakers change over so they take my old diff witch saves me dumping it. the diff is out of a EA and mine is aa EB s1 this will bolt strait up wont it. where u pull it said they charge $160 for the same diff but u have to know what car to pull it off as they have no idea, how would i tell and is it a good price, how would i change the spedo reading to suit diff.

yes it will bolt straight up.

You will need to change the speedo gear in the transmission to suit the 3.23 ratio.

how hard is it to change its a compleat diff disk to disk, is it a good price and if i was to go to upull it how would i go about telling what diff they had in them,

where does the speedo gear go

it should have a tag that says "spin resistant diff use approved lubricant only" or spin one wheel and if they bothe turn in the same direction it's LSD, the speedo gear is simple to change if it is the same as the 3 speed autos and the 5 speed manuals, it is on the drivers side of the gearbox towards the rear and it has one bolt holding it in and a plug about 6 inches from the speedo gear.
changing it disk to disk would be easiest undo swing arms handbrake cable and brake line, remove and put new one in and remember to bleed the brakes.

it should be on the tag or stamped on the housing somewhere, if you cant find either, try figuring it out by turning the tail shaft and counting the wheels turn
