the XR looks kinda like a cheap rip off of the xr50 bar. they look ok, but think the BA look alikes are a bit better imo. still would like to see what the xr lights look like with the high fairmont style bonnet and grill. been trying to do another photochop but using 2 differant colours makes it a little hard. has anyone got a white XR frontal pic i could use? preferably in the same angle as that BA fronted AU..

Wow, such an informative and well constructed post.

Pity ISP's aren't required to do forms of testing before allowing just anyone onto the internet.

Can someone photochop this with the series 3 XR headlights, throw in the grilled teeth of an LTD into the opening and the chromed fairmont bonnet piece (unsure of name).

I haven't got photoshop but you get the drift.

That bumper wood look better than the one with au xr indicators just put yellow lamps in the spot lights and make them indicators instead.

mad thread mine.

the problem is that the bumpers seem to taper in at the bottom. they havnt been designed to keep the width of the AU making them a little bit narrower across the bottom than they are at the top making them look retarded.

somewhat like the BF F6/e-series hybrid bumpers.

I think it looks good with the XR front. I can imagine the BA boys having a little spit about it being a BA copy etc. But hey who cares.

That was one of the reasons I never finished it, I started looking for all different types of indicators looking to graft something from anohter make/model that looked good. Never could though.

I'd make it again if I still had the AU :evil3:

Don't bother with the spots and fit the indicators there it'll look factory, legal (i hope) and you don't have to find some indicator to fit that wood look strange. :

Just a thought, the indicators could be mounted in the high beam bucket, in a similer way to the parkers use LED's so its bright....

Ye Nikked I was thinking at the time about somehow putting them into the headlight, same as Mercedes, but cost was a factor I needed to keep it down to make it afordable yet keep it legal at the same time.

One idea was to run an LED type set up in the recess between the spotty and the outer edge, but like I said I got sidetracked and never finished it.

No I don't, I was doing it at a friends shop in Camblefield, he ended up selling the shop not realising I had that sitting up stairs and the guy that bought it sold it on ebay for something like $200.

Apaprently, it fell apart during transport, or so I was told, what would you expect it was a fragile grafted prototype and we've all seen how most freight companies treat "Fragile" freight.

Now I'm in the shop I would have the time to do something like this again, I actually have a few things in mind that I'd really like to try out.
