Majority of the time you'll only get pulled over if you are doing something wrong or your car is obviously unroadworthy. Saw police let a bike go for easily doing 100 in a 60 zone at 3am the other day, was no danger to anyone but himself so they didn't really care.

Where do you find police like that? Got done for overtaking a truck. Apparently exceeding the speed limit to overtake a truck is illegal. Another time there was a dead boring straight 2am in the morning, dual carriageway, metal guardrails for the next 2km, I am the only car on the road, middle of nowhere. Gunned it out of pure boredom, and some idiot rookie cop was facing the wrong way policing that very straight. Each incident was the only time I sped the entire journey.

Yeah if he had of been in a modified car he probably would of been handcuffed at gunpoint lol. That's the good thing about the turbos though, you don't have to be loud and draw attention to yourself just to get moving.

Of course if you're speeding by all rights thats illegal regardless of the situation, comes down to the individual cop and if he can be bothered/how he feels about that particular situation.

I find the safest way to speed is following a cop who is going back to the station to either knock off or coffee break....

As others have said - your driving style will determine if you get pulled over or not...

If you do, attitude goes a long way...

Hey guys,
Just thought I'd let everyone know I finally brought a car, however Im guessing that you won't be thrilled with my choice.
I ended up grabbing an 09 SSV, low k's and pretty much everything besides a sunroof!
I drove a few fg xr8's and while the zf is an amazing box, the so called 290kw boss feels like a lot less. I was looking at Xr6turbo's too, but just couldn't walk away from the sound of a V8.
Anyway just Thought I'd let ya's know, so you know that I'm not just another dreamer waisting your time.
Catch ya's,
Beau.

Nothing like the sound of a V8. Nice pick up. Post up pics if you can.

Yeah thanks Fordomatic and blue oval, i paid a little bit more than I wanted to it ended up being 23500. But that's from a dealer with 65k on the clock and the bonnet resprayed(because it had a very small stone chip in it, about the length of your pinky finger nail and about a 16th the width. So yeah I was just being a picky bugger) the dealer had 26,500 on it so I reckon I got it for as low as I could. I don't have any decent pics but when I pick it up I'll try and work out how to upload them.

Teak yeah I took em for a decent drive and when I was giving it a bit it had no problem spinning the tyres or chirping. But they were missing That 'smash you back into your seat feelings that all xr8's should have. Honestly as far as feel goes, I reckon my old au xr8 with the 220 in it and exhaust felt faster. I don't doubt that The fg would smash it down the quarter, just reckon it doesn't 'feel' quick.
However I know you've probably driven ve ss's and fg xr8's and you've got your own opinion and that's all good, just saying how it felt for me.

Overall I'm pretty happy with my purchase, it might be dinosaur technology and The gearbox ain't no zf. But it's a package that works.
Cheers guy's.
