I've already told Steve that in the new year we'll be doing a couple of crazy photoshoots with this thing, so at some stage the pimp suit will probably come back into it lol

I imagine you feel so awesome having accomplished this, you must be so proud and so happy... but I bet theres a small part of you that'll miss the excitement of working on such a mad car because it's (pretty much) done now...

Altho I guess, it's never really finished is it =P

I'm sure (as much as i hate to think about it) there will be more upgrades done to the EA, but all in good time. ATM i'm in way too much debt to start thinking about further upgrades or projects in the near future. I've sold half my stereo to help releive the debt slightly, so once i'm out of the negative i may look into a few upgrades here and there.

Tho there is one thing that will get done soon enough. I want to make a neat and practicle boot install. All that will be in there are two amps, a battery and a capacitor, so it's not going to be something outrageous. Basically i want to make it flow with the interior, so i'll have grey/black vinyl and woodgrain highlights. I've even thought about purchasing a spare bonspeed and having that as the highlight in the boot, but we'll see

ATM just releived that i can start enjoying her finally, and future projects and upgrades aren't really on my mind...

You will have a hightened sence of accomplishment when you drive it and you will forget the time it took and the dramas. Unfortuanally Krys is right, you will continue to mod it after you have 'finished it', I did :P

Well, looks like i'm not out of the woods yet. What i origionally beleived to be something rattling against the body, now sounds like it's coming from the bottom end. Went around with a screwdriver to try and pinpoint were the sounds coming from, and unfortunately it's coming from the motor. Sound is getting worse and worse, but i'll be getting a few opinions before i take the plunge and get a new motor.

IF god forbid it is the bottom end, the decision hasto be made whether to just chuck in a replacement motor or spend more money and get this one rebuilt. Either way, neither will be done until after new years.

I love cars :/

although mine did similar a while ago and it fixed itself. hiopefully it does that again :P

Mines same, only at low rpm

EBlightning, water pump is brand spankers, and doesn;t sound like it's coming from any of the pulleys. Sound is coming from towards the back of the motor, a horrible grindling, rattling sound :/ As i said i'm going to get a few opinions on it, so i wont be pulling her apart just yet...

Steve, you've gone all out on it so I reckon you should get the bottom-end rebuilt properly the first time, even if it means you have to wait longer to save and prepare for it.

I like the idea of having the Bonspeed as a main element to the boot-install.

And no, I'm not trying to make you spend more money!!

Dave (thanatos) came around today to have a look at the car. Seems that everytime the clutch grabs the sound appears again. When we push the clutch in the sound diminishes, so it could either be a proplem with the flywheel (it could be a bit loose), or the clutch/pressure plate. It could even be that the clutch amplifies the problem by putting more weight on the motor, so were not exactly sure yet.

Anyway, we took the car out for a quick spin in the rain, Dave was driving and something came over me and told him try fish tailing it a little. Spun the wheels from 1st, 2nd and 3rd when we heard a loud bang and my electrics were going spastic (Now remember this wasn't Dave's fault as he was only doing what i told him to). Popped the bonnet and there was coolant ****ing everywhere. Went to start the car to see were it was coming from but it seemed there was no power. Found out that the battery terminal had came off my battery which was loose in the boot (didn't think of that before we started muckin around). We then started the car and found water ****ing out of the thernostat housing. Seems we had popped the gasket on the lower housing, so thank god it wasn;t anything serious. A tow truck was out of the question as the car wouldn't clear, so we hadto do a little improv and use storm water in a chamois case to fill her back up :P. What was funny was that about 10 bogan spec holdens and one stock EA station wagon felt the need to fishtail past us in our hour of need :P It always seems to happen at the worst of times :P

Anyway, Dave will be posting some pics of the ordeal soon enough

Default It Wasn't My Fault - I Swear!!! :p

Well Steve has already given you all a run down of what happened. I have to say the car pulls VERY hard, I gave it a little bit in second and third gears and it broke traction VERY easily both times (it was raining, lightly). I was content and happy to go home at that point when Steve said "Aren't you gonna give it a go in first gear?". Anyway, Steve managed to pressure me into it, so I eased into it in first gear. The thing broke traction effortlessly and started getting nicely sideways so I snatched second and the back end swung out even more, I corrected and then snatched third and it swung out immediately again. I backed off at this point as she was starting to get very taily and all of a sudden the dash lights flickered on and off as the car sputtered and jerked and then backfired. We pulled over to see steam coming from the bonnet. :|

Anyways, as promised, here's some pics (excuse the quality, they are taken with my camera phone):

Our wonderful coolant container:

Steve topping up the chamois container from the water drain:

Steve topping up the "coolant" using the chamois container:

Cheers,
Dave
