It clicked over about 500m from the driveway...
300,000kms and no blown head gaskets The auto was due for an overhaul at 250,000kms but seems to be surviving. Needs a paint job *real* bad though :( I hope this isn't a useless thread, the main point is for the 300,000 piccy coz I guess there aren't too many of these kodak moments that are actually taken advantage of ;) -Dave- |

Congrats. When my car clicked over to 200,000, I was on the freeway so sadly I couldn't photograph it. The closest I have is a photo at 199,953kms. No head gasket? Good job. Are the V8s as prone to it as the 6s? The paint doesn't look that bad in the photos. I see the front bumper is still not sitting right after snagging it on the log. Were those photos at Churchill?
How do you post pics up? When I click on the "Insert Image" button, it comes up with this script prompt thing? I should show you the car I have talked so much about.

I think GhiaEB and myself often get confused! I've never met him before or replied to posts, etc of his...
I've got other pix of the EB but they're not, umm, Forums friendly :p Dezza, nar the V8s aren't prone to the head gasket issues to to being all iron. And that front bumper is a pain in the ***! It wasn't a log that did that to it, it was a little 6yo kid who my ex was babysitting (he jumped on the bumper for a laugh... I was ****ED when I saw the result!) Scraping my bumper is the least of my worries now with the superlows :o As for posting up pix, when you're making a post, below the Submit Reply and Preview Post buttons there's an Additional Options section. Click on Manage Attachments and away you go! Just remember that there are size limitations with images, I think 800x600, so resize any images that may be too big. And yep, those shots were taken in the uni carpark. And I love taking that straight that's out the front of the binishell now (in 1st)! The workmen working on the new education building there hate me, I always give them a headache whenever I pass... -Dave- |

Looks good. Your car sounds mad as well But you said the springs are from Santo's EA? I'm sure the 6's and 8's have different part numbers. Something to do with the extra weight at the front of the car. This is what I was told when I bought superlows for my EL 5L.

Thanks for the comments guys!
j4m35: Looking forward to a brief cruise in SA, either together or in your NC... John, tyres only grab the guards in extreme lock situations (at carpark speeds). Like the other day you saw me and I was doing, umm, a 3-point turn, one of the guards got bit into when I was reversing. The paint seems fine, but the metal fold underneath/inside feels a little rippled or pushed up slightly. You can't visually see anything wrong, you can only feel it when running your fingers under the guard. Mick, I gotta take a look at your E-omni one day Danny, if only mine was at 10,000! Then I wouldn't need a rebuild when I plan to do serious mods :( Damo, "David" is what mum calls me :p Since Ben's and my cars are similar, we can be differentiated probably by hair. I've got lots of it, and need a haircut (I'm a bogan) Kenaz, yep they're off Santo's EA. They fitted up fine with the EB, and the front end is rock solid! If I ever change my swaybars, I'll probably do the Watts-linkage first... My back looks high compared to the front though :( Maybe some replacement Ultra-lows? : Wayne, I only worry about it when I go over speed humps at C0L3Z :-/ nice n slooooooow... -Dave- |
