Interesting concept, I would rather pay that much for the whole car though!
http://www.aussiecarbq.com/Ford1.html Do you think they would throw in some FREE steaks at that price

I've seen a GTS monaro one of them, damn fools it's bad enough that the parts are becoming harder and harder to find let alone chopping into a barby. And the price they are askin for these things :
p.s this is based on the fact it looks like they have used origional parts |

I'd be too concerned about oil splatter on the guards and the bonnet. I wonder how well the paint would hold up and how hard wopuld it be to keep clean. For $4300, I'd want a few guarantees

if you go to the website festivafan provided you will find out that they use 'fully restored original panels, parts and chromework' (qouted of the site). i reckon they should be shot for useing original parts. but if they were to create their own parts for it and make it i would buy it thou

What else are they going to use bar original parts? The price would be a fair bit higher if they were moulding XD guards into the shape of XW ones.
The only thing that is "GT" about it is the bonnet badge (if it has one), and the stripes. The bonnet has been cut down, the guards have had the bottoms cut out of them (where they rust), rad support, grille etc is all falcon stuff. I think it looks really good, as for heat etc, I would expect them to hold up quite well, panel steel back then was quite thick and the heat from the BBQ wouldn't be that much hotter than an engine bay. Unless you cooked with the bonnet down :P

For that money you would expect it to have the right bonnet.

I think I saw something like this a few years back, a holden fan had been buying old damaged panels from Skaifes HRT VX untill he had the entire front end (windscreen forward) and had them repaired & resprayed to make a bbq under the bonnet of that.
Personally I like these ones more, but wouldn't pay that price! I paid less than half that for my whole car!
