I wanted to paint my side mirror covers and I was wondering if anyone could tell me the easiest way to remove them without damage. I have had a quick look but I can't see an easy way.
Cheers.

Behind the mirror is three tabs. They are the click style tabs (They have a hook that clips past a stationary point to hold it in place). Get a light in there and you will see the tabs. They are vertical. Use a flat blade screw driver to undo the tabs. The cover will fall off.

Thanks Twisted. Makes it easier to understand with a photo.

does this also apply to EB (electric) mirrors? Would I just need to angle the mirror enough to get to the tabs or need to actually take the mirror off? They need painting also as I have the notorious cobalt blue which fades over time.

tried this last night, no need to remove the glass, simply push the mirror around so you can get to the tabs using the screwdriver. the way i did it was to push against the lower corner of the mirror near the window, this revealed 2 tabs that i was able to unclip by flicking with the screwdriver. then, holding the cover out while pushing the bottom edge of the mirror, revealed the other tab that i could unclip thus allowing the removal of the scollop. i did need a torch so i could see what i was poking at, but other then that it was fairly simple.
