Hey guys,
I am looking at buying my first car and found the following: - 1998 Ford Falcon EL GLi - 105,000 km, country kms - one owner, all books and receipts - 17" rims - 5 speed manual - immaculate interior and mechanical - just major serviced at 100,000 and new rear tyres He wanted $5000 for it but i managed to bargain down to $4500, he was hesitant to go any lower, what are the AFF thoughts; good deal? |

Sounds like a good deal to me, I'd go for it.

Yeah it would want to be mint. But factory 5 speed is probably why the price is high. K's are pretty low to so its not a bad deal at all really.

I would say that the low ks would be more of a reason to demand a better price than the 5 speed alone...
I bought my ED Gli for about $4.5k with 67,000k's, and I've doubled the amount of k's on it since then, with only tyres, oil and a thermostat needing to be done to it... My Fairlane on the other hand has done roughly 60,000K's whilst I have owned it, but I bought it when it has 200,000ks... It has required far more time and money due to things wearing out and failing. Don't underestimate the value of a good low K car.

Have you actually seen the car in the flesh ?? some of the photos look a little altered colour wise in that ad.

Engine Bay Pics?
And take the seat covers off and look under to see what the seats are really like, remove the entire seat cover - dont just have a little look. For $5,000 you should able to get an EL Ghia though, maybe not as low klms but way more luxurious

^^true but if you want something sporty then having the manual outweigh electronic goodies that are bound to fail sooner or later.

I waited and searched endlessly to find a manual that was in as good condition as this, and for me having a large car is luxury enough, because i've been driving my parents honda jazz for the past 2 and a half years when ive had to. The jazz has also put me off electric windows, as many a time i have nearly had my fingers chopped off
On top of that, i dont really plan on modifying it as i am hopeless in the garage and wouldnt know where to start, i just enjoy fords! |

Galaxy Blue is a really nice colour, and would look very dark and deep with a good polish and wax.
