Default Best Movie Driving Scenes: Results

http://www.news.com.au/entertainment...-1226234817652

Quote:
THE original 1969 version of The Italian Job, has the best driving scenes in films, a UK survey says.
Another British movie - Cliff Richard's 1963 smash hit Summer Holiday - also made it into the top 10 for its double-decker bus scenes.
The survey, from motoring and leisure association CSMA Club, revealed three driving sequences from Sir Michael Caine's The Italian Job, which included Minis driving down steps, were the top motoring scenes from films over the past five decades.
Matt Damon's car chase in Paris in the 2002 film The Bourne Identity was in fourth place, with the car chase in the 1968 Steve McQueen movie Bullitt in fifth, and Summer Holiday sixth.
Also in the top 10 was the 2000 film Gone In 60 Seconds, starring Nicolas Cage.
The car-train chase in The French Connection (1971) was also highly popular with the 2012 UK motorists polled.
The survey also showed that the Aston Martin DB5 driven by Sean Connery in the 1964 James Bond movie Goldfinger was the most noted car in films.
Second was the DeLorean time-travelling car in the three Back To The Future films (1985-90), with Herbie, the talking car in The Love Bug (1968), third.

I'm surprised Bourne Supremacy in that taxi in Moscow doesn't get a mention.

YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!!!!

What about Steve McQueen in Bullitt, the first real Hollywood car chase, and still the best 9 minutes you'll ever watch.

How didn't the blues brothers make it?

The original gone in sixty seconds chase is heaps better than nick cage movie but his version is still great.

It seems the article theme is driving movies, not necessarily police chases.

Definitely the "Bourne" movie chases (Bourne Identity and Bourne Supremacy).

For pure variety of vehicles . . . what about the car chase in Terminator 3 (the last one with Arnie). Seeing that crane barrel down a suburban street is pretty awesome.

The Matrix Freeway chase is pretty hot . . . they even built the freeway just for the movie.

The original "Gone in 60 Seconds"- NO special effects used and filmed at actual speed has to rate quite highly.

i watched the making of the blues brothers
the scene in Chicago when they are speeding under the bridges to get to the city tax department is them actually driving at 130 miles an hour
they actually shut the city and did that
ackroyd is a rev/car head apparently

the bullitt scene is classic
must of watched that scene thu the surround sound about 50 times just to hear the noise
im surprised they have not remade that movie yet
the story was rather slow, but could easily be beefed up a bit nowdays
get to it someone in hollywood

the original gone in 60 chase scene was epic
yellow mach 1?
and didnt they use only 1 or 2 cars??
