Hi had a question for people who have used the day rego pass before and if they had any troubles getting one.
This is just from my experience but needed to use the car in the past for a wedding and copped the third degree about getting a day pass and taking advantage of this service. At first they were trying to get me to register my car on the Friday use it on the weekend and cancel the rego on the Monday. More money for them. Then the second bit. I understand mentioning the word wedding wouldn't have gone too well and a list of rules would apply. Though eventually I did get that day pass But there is an event I would really like to try enter and would like the transition to go a bit more smoothly this time. So just wondering does everyone cop a 3rd degree trying get this and what excuse have they used it for? Thanks

Never heard of a 'Day Pass', must be an Adelaide thing.
I take it to mean that you can rego your car just for 1 day ?

Up here in QLD you can of course get unregistered vehicle permits...but they come with a long list of conditions. The car must be roadworthy, you can't use it for carrying passengers (this might have changed), for carrying loads, and for a lot of other reasons...just for moving it from A to B.
You can't even use it for going to a charity run like a toy run...found that out when I tried to register one of my classic bikes for a day to enter it with a whole pile of other bikes in a Salvo's toy run in Bundaberg. |

Do you mean this permit?
https://www.sa.gov.au/topics/transpo...vehicle-permit Main reason for this permit it to get your car repaired and ready for rego, unless your part of a club. Then you can use the permit for club events. |

Have the same thing in NSW but you need a pink slip first. Lasts 28 days.

Just went & got my permit for this weekend - took about 10 minutes, most of which were her typing the permitted routes. Plus about 10 minutes waiting time.

Couple of positive ones will try again hopefully in time for the next coupe cruise.
May have just gotten someone on a foul day. Didn't care too much about it being used as a wedding car, as long as didn't except anything for my services, but just getting the pass was the problem. Driven it once in the last 2 years so glad they do have this "day pass" scheme Thanks.
