Default Amazing life time collection of Holdens

An old NSW country Holden dealer has spent his lifetime collecting Holdens and parts.
FX (48/215) EJ,EH,HD, HK Monaro, XU1, Brougham etc etc.
Now it's all going to auction, drool.

Lucky for me he wasn't a Ford dealer or I'd be buying an airline ticket over there. Tempted by the HD Premier (only because I had a HD as a young guy).

Heavy with pics, scroll all the way down past the parts for the cars.

A ton of VB,VC & VH Commodores, I didn't think that many still existed.
A couple of nice Panelvans also.

Another mention here:

Wonder if he was the dealer principle, or just an employee?

I knew a bloke just like him.he was an early holden freak.he had everything and i mean everything! FX to HG, in his huge shed there were these small narrow walkways leading off to various parts of the shed it was that full.but do you think he would part with anything! Hell had to freeze over first! I could never understand why guys like him had that sort of mindset. I once searched nation wide for some decent gts hubcaps for a HG monaro i owned. Found a bloke out in the middle of buggery who had 10 complete sets,of which 3 sets were NOS. Same thing, wouldnt part with a single one,it got to a point that i abused him after i'd tried and tried to convince him to part with a set.basicly told him that its a,holes like him that make life difficult for blokes like i was at the time to restore our cars.i guess some blokes just cant let go of their possessions and to hell with the dollar value

People call guys like this bloke all kinds of names lol. I admire him for his life-long passion and thank him for preserving the cars - all he needed was an arc.

Oh, I'll take the XU1 and munro cheers.

I was surprised by the amount of vb to vh 308's that were there. They're the last of the real holdens in my opinion. I doubt he would have fitted the longer rear bar to a 253. Shazza (82 vh 253 with 107k on the clock) has been in bits in my brothers garage for 15 years. The biggest gunna project ever. Even today he is gunna do this or gunna do that, but nothing ever happens.I suppose 2 253s and a 308, 2 traumatics and a small assortment of other parts isn't considered hoarding, but it still takes parts away from others in need

What people do with their own possessions is their own business, I had many old spares once but kept them for my own restorations & it pays to have back up spares for theft or accidents, you will usually find these people will trade among their own network of people & not strangers.

You can buy anything out of anyone's collection if you are prepared to pay what it takes to get it.
Sometimes you'd rather throw something in the rubbish bin rather than sell it to some people.

A lot of that stuff should be scanned for preservation. Would even Holden have all those old campaign posters and what not?

An awesome collection to be sure.

Looks like he used that LJ as a daily. The Munro is in mint condition, though.

Good on him. At least he isn't the type of hoarding that collects all these cars and leaves them to rot in an open shed or worse out in a paddock. It seems like he appreciated and cared for each car.

Where is it exactly?

A mate is driving over to Brisbane now who has a pristine FJ ute that has everything except the radio. And some ***** snapped the badge on the tailgate. He would love this...

That's some serious clearance sale I must say. Very impressive.
