Default Current Mail Speed ex-EU/UK

One of my Eurotrash needs a couple of parts, clutch fork and bushes. I’ve just checked and none on the shelf in Oz, unwilling to give ETA.

Are small packets still getting here from either Europe or UK in reasonable time, or has it gone to hell-in-a-handbasket?

I think things are really slow atm. Business's closed, airlines running stuff all cargo planes etc.

Things seem to be taking a long time to come in the mail from what I can see. But who knows, it will vary from place to place.

Two weeks is “sort of” OK, but if you consider that DHL used to be 3-4 days for that caper it’s not so good!

Haven't seen any slow down, head gasket ex UK, when their lockdowns first got serious, 4 days. Recently parts out of Spain in 5 days. Both with DHL.

I had a small envelope sized packet sent from the UK on the 30th of April. It arrived yesterday.

I'm also waiting on a couple of similar sized packets from Taiwan that were sent on the 15th of May. The seller tells me that DHL are having very few flights. Also looks like they're going via Germany, so at a guess DHL are waiting until they get a plane full before departing anywhere.

Certainly did the rounds for a couple of USB Drives, no DHL tracking info from Brisbane to Burnett Heads as carried by Aus Post.....

I've had frequent parcels out of Italy for the last year for my tractor / telehandler rebuild. They have always taken 1 week from order to collection.
But for the last month it has taken about twice as long. (Could also be slow expediting at the warehouse at the factory in Italy).

At my work, last week we shipped some electronic boards from US to Norway with DHL. The parts went via the same hubs, CINCINNATI OH, and LEIPZIG Germany. That took only about 4 days. We did the same a month ago also, and then it took about 7 days with DHL, so a slight delay then.

If you ship parcels with UK Royal Mail, or Auspost, then I think there could be more delays.

UK to Oz airmail is still erratic. Airmail card posted June 26th arrived July 27th.

Small box of clutch parts (fork and bushings) took eight calendar days, arriving this morning.

I order OS every month or so and this is my delivery times since the virus took hold.

China - 9 weeks - cheap guitar
USA - 9 weeks - CD
UK - 8 weeks - Blu Ray

plus I have an outstanding delivery from the UK that I've been waiting 8 weeks for - Jigsaw puzzle

China can often be slow but the USA and UK would normally be here in 2 to 3 weeks.

I send a card from the NSW Central Coast to Albury 4 weeks ago and I'm hoping they'll get it by the time of his next birthday.

Items will be slow from overseas and now there is a shortage of containers for shipping if your item ships with this method.

Cheers.

Yes, to be fair the on-line sites are warning you if the dispatch is for an off shore location then expect delays as there is only a limited amount of cargo space available and these are booked out every run.

Makes sure you've got tracking available, it won't necessarily tell you where it is or when it will arrive but you can make a claim if the article is months overdue.

Was there one particular dead calm patch in the progress tracking, or was it just slow?

1 small package from UK recently - 5 days
1 letter from Germany - 6 weeks
1 large package from Holland - 8 weeks and it's stuck in KL for some reason

no logic or consistency but most likely due to the reduction in flights in general

Small parcel from Stockholm to Melbourne took 6 weeks, usually less than a week.

Still waiting on tools from USA and UK posted at the beginning of August, ETA was last week.

Book from Lilydale to Melbourne took 10 days.

Tool from next suburb took 9 days.
