Hi all,
Very used to flaring steel and copper, but only at the ends. What is it called when the flare is a couple of inches in from the end (maybe more a collar than a flare), is this something a feller can do at home or does it require super specialised tools? |

Bead per:
You need a beading tool e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxZTe2Rs-X8 But various companies make cheaper one for less varied use e.g.: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/23398867...UAAOSwP3Fgi49s https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/15347420...ure!6163!AU!-1 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/32440139...4AAOSwTg9hOlzJ Used this way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9hTleI8a9I

Is it for the brake lines, or high pressure like hydraulic steering, or is it just a water hose connector, what material...length, diameter, thickness....

As aussieblue has indicated above, it is called a "bead" not a flare.
