Default Car info?

Can anyone let me know who I should talk to about finding out about my car...
I want to find out if its a REAL XR6 or not? I was under the impression that it definately was and I thought it was a Tickford...but after this weekend am not 100% sure and am pretty confused...

I would really appreciate any advice that any of you are able to give to me on this...

Thanks heaps ahead of time

Cheers
Kerri

diff should be 3.45:1 lsd, intirior has xr stamped all over it, theres an intirior dash clock, the tickford motor, not sure about the fuel pressure regulators on these, i know the eb/ed xr ones were different, ummm, the red stripping, slightly lowered with just stok black looking springs.

There was a few comments over the weekend from people saying it didnt appear to be a real XR6 and blah blah... anyway it then came down to the comments in regards to having Tickford badges......

I do not claim to know all about cars and usually take people at their word..I was pretty offended with some of the comments but did start wondering how to find out and all that..

To be told that it has been dressed up to look like this and that has upset me to say the least (I know Im probably being over sensitive and petty - but Im female

Cheers

Yeah but cant a lot of these things be put into a car! Well that was the impression I was led to believe.....

Is there someone I can take the car to and have them check it out.. I mean I am paying extra in rego & insurance because its an XR6 (EF model) so if its not, then that has to be changed....
I realise this probably doesnt make sense, sorry if it doesnt!!!!

Cheers anyway

Have you got a pic or some more information so we could help you out ?

If you read niko's comments that may help you when you next look at it.

Also, if your near another member, (depends where you live) im sure someone would be happy to come and check it out for you just incase.

Steve

ring a dealership with the chassis number and they will tell you straight up, no messing around that way.

I know it has a lot of the stuff Niko said, but was told it was probably all added etc!!!!!!!!
Its the one in my avatar thingy..or I can try to put one from photobucket in if you want.... and I do say try :
If there is anyone on the Southside of Brissy that knows these things and wouldnt mind looking at it for me, that would be great...

But can I use the little plate number thingys under the bonnet to ring someone and find out what its supposed to be? Or cant that be done?

That's no indicator! I know of at least one dressed-up Fairmont Ghia to make it into the XR club :P

The model codes for the EF XR's are:

EF I - 18435
EF II - 18635
EF I wagon - 18465

Easy, no one can dispute a build plate.
