Similar to the F6 muscle car/not poll, what would you consider is more of a "Muscle Bike" (as opposed to Muscle Car)? a Suzuki Hayabusa or a Harley Davidson Fatboy.
Vote and comment would be appreciated. My vote goes to the Harley. Even if it's much slower and handles a lot less then the Hayabusa.

There's a salt lake racing dvd out from www.stripeydog.tv and its awesome dvd. the dvd shows three guys on hayabusa bikes go over 200mph als this only one guy with one leg going hard on his bike a massive 103cu. inch harley engine i think . so both those bikes are awesome with those massive engines on small lightweight frames . and the top bikes class drag racing watching those guys go flat out on bikes makes the hair neck stand up . lovem both !

That's like comparing a Cadillac with a Ferrari. LoL
The Harley is big and fat but doesn't have much muscle. Try comparing a Buell with a Hyabusa you might get a different result.

in the true meaning the harley is more of a muscle bike. but old tech has nothing on the jap crotch rockets of today. i know id much prefer a sport bike than a cruiser.

Harley's look tough. They have never been that fast compared to Jap bikes.
Its slightly different as muscle cars are considered pretty quick. Maybe 20 years ago a harley was considered fast. I dont know, I wasnt around. V Twin sports for the win :P Mmm TLR, Ducati, Mmm :

Neither mate.
The 'Busa is fast in a straight line, and that's about it. Harleys are loud, full of chrome and often have a try-hard fat ****er who still lives home with mum sitting on them. They look good, and the "image" is there, but at about 60hp to their 300 odd kg weight, I don't know if muscle is the word. What about the Ducat 996, and the Boss Hoss?? |

Ive always thought the word muscle in relation to cars meant it was a factory built high performance model.
I chose Hayabusa. not a fatboy theres nothing performance about them. if it was a Harley V-rod yes |

I honestly don't think Harley's have much 'muscle' about them. I don't really dig Busa's either. Give me a 600cc or 1000cc supersports anyday.

I thought muscle=tough.
Harleys are more "tough" than sports bikes. But they are also slower. Hayabusa's are massive bikes, they are more of a cruiser sort of bike arent they?

Clearly, the Harley is the muscle bike. Look at cars. I would consider an XYGT a muscle car, I would not consider a lambourghini mercielago to be a muscle car, however, I am pretty sure the Lambo would whoop the XY in a lap at Bathurst.
A mate of mine just bought a brand ne Harley Night Rod! Big fan!! Hate the name though.

Its the hayabusa. Harleys are an image only bike, they don't do anything better then comparable bikes apart from detroy your ear drums....
May as well be riding on a sack of potatoes on top of a skateboard. I can see where Big Waity is comeing from, but if you put an XYGT next to a lambo of the same age and you might get a different result. Its not about age.

Comparing Jap Sports bikes to Harleys is like comparing Imports to V8s.
Harley gets my vote hands down for the "Muscle Bike" title. |

Niether....
Though I'd class a Buell as a muscle bike and possibly a 996 Ducati (probably more a sports bike though).

The busa's to good to be considered a 'muscle bike' :hihi:
Harleys are just loud and meant for cruising. Wouldnt even come close to the busa in the performance department. |

Harley's look good, but thats it. Muscle and Harley should not even be used in the same sentence. ha ha. V-Rod or anything, they are all slow! (from the factory).
The Hayabusa is the current #1, so therefore IMO is the muscle bike of the pair. But watch out Hayabusa because the Kawasaki ZX14 is going to steal the title. |

As much as I Like Harleys to ride, they are definitely not in the muscle catergory. Big engine doesn't necessarily mean big performance. Does an F250 7.3 TD warrant the term? Nope!
Muscle cars are all about big performance. Anything with 150hp plus and with the weight of the Suzuki has to be considered in the "Muscle" Category. Anyone remember the GSX1100 Katana? Now that was a muscle bike and one that you needed every bit of muscle that you posessed to ride hard! |

hayabusa is like the skyline gtr of motorbikes... not a muscle car, but beats most of them at their own game, with added technology of course... i think the suzuki tl1000r v twin is more of a muscle bike than the busa... now a v twin ducati is even better... love the sound, hitting the limiter in 4th up the highway, leaving a nice black trail of tyre on the road behind you...

Don't know much about bikes. But never associated the word muscle with any of them, whether they be Harleys or Suzukis..........

I'd put the Harley in the Hot Rod category since they have all the shiney bits, but are not really too refined.
The 916 Ducati is in the supercar category because it is built as an ultimate exercise in refined performance in all areas including handling. The Triumph Daytona in the GT category because it is exotic, extremely quick and refined but can be used daily too. There aren't many bikes that I could describe as a muscle bike, but I guess the Hiabusa is as close as anything because it is designed to "handle" reaaallly well in a straight line, but is not the best around corners. |

i think harleys come accross as more of a muscle bike to me
because they are similar to the ol muscle cars big.. not to great handling..throbbing engine..loud...torquey where as the busa comes accross as a sleek sports bike.. much like a lambo or ferrari..or any other high performance sports car of today.. but then the harley falls more into the catagory of HOT ROD with all the chrome and show off appeal of them built for cruising.. not racing

Sigh, more malformed craziness from harley there ^^^
You want some real power? Try: Suzuki Boost King, thats your typical Hayabusa engine, with a turbo added. (i had originally heard it was supposed to be supercharged).
