Hi all,
I have been have some really bad steering problems lately. I can feel the steering wheel vibrate while the wheels are grinding as i turn hard while moving slowly. I thought it may have needed a wheel allignment because the outside edge of the tyres are eaten at. When we checked it, we found that the allignment was perfectly fine. The guy who did it told me probably steering box or steering rack will be at fault. How much would it cost roughly to change one of these and could there be anything else causing it? Does anyone also find they have this problem. Also what other problems could cause it to do this? Thank you all very much for your time. I will see you guys tonight on the cruise. Bill. |

in 2 years i have managed to throw off 6 power sterring belts while driving, and they have all been done while going around a roundabout at speed, and there is no law at how fast you go around, i do the speed limmit, but i would say a slipping belt or it could be missing

Hi all,
I just replaced my power steering pump since we found that it was buggered. But it is still eating the outside of the tyres. The steering rack is fine from what the mechanic told me. So is there anything else that could be causing it to eat the tyres. The steering on certain roads also pulls the car to one side of the road. Is that normal? But regarding the tyre wear, i was told that it is common for these model fords to eat the tyres. Is that true, because at the current rate i am going to have to put new tyres on the front. The ones on there at the moment have been on for nearly a year? If anyone could help confirm what may be the problem, I would really appreciate it. Bill. |

drop your car on the ground and it will fix that right up, as it will change from the outside to the inside with outa camber set

Get a wheel alignment. That should fix the problems.
