Does Steve have a car?

Some of you may have heard that i'm still having issues with the car. Last update I had was that the car was finally making proper boost, but what i failed to consider was that it was making this boost at around 6500rpm where it is actually meant to make it much lower. Closer inspection found rubbery dust particles caked over the blower bracjet, indicating that the belt was still slipping and inturn wearing out the belt.
Since i've had enough of swift, I took my car down to dynomotive who seem to be alot more proficient with supercharger systems. Mark (the owner) had one feel of the belt and told me it was nowere near tight enough, and that installing a mechanical stop on the autotensioner will solve my problems. Since they've never done this on EF style tensioners before, it was going to take a little bit of mucking around to find the best design. Anyways, 2 weeks later and my cars still at the shop. They've gone through 3 different designs in the past week and still haven't found a suitable solution. He tells me the 4th design that they have in mind will definately work, so I'm waiting to hear what the verdict is. They will also be doing a tune up aswell so i'll hopefully be getting a better dyno result back. At the same time I'm having a transmission cooler installed as the transmission has been slipping very badly. A shift kit will also be installed shortly after so hopefully that will solve this issue. The goodz' old haltech ecu has also been sent off about 2-3weeks ago for repair but still no word on that. Before i took it down to dynomotive i also installed a set of 9mm ICE leads and some better spark plugs designed for forced gas systems, which hopefully will make a difference with the end result Anyways i should get the car back this week, so i'll keep you's all updated ;) |
