That Orange/Brown colour inside is disgusting :( Other than that the car is sexy! I would buy one (except it isn't a 6 from what I can see)

I haven't read about any six cylinder options yet, however there is the 5cyl from the S-Max and Focus XR5 that will be used. The production version along with all the specs and info will be worth waiting for. |

Looks great, but probably wouldn't see me optioning the orange interior unless there was a VERY sporty model to match the lurid interior. Give me some blacks and greys and I'd be pretty happy.

I wouldn't really call that interior orange, its more of a dark tan leather, and it looks fantastic IMHO - much better than the boring old 6 shades of grey that Ford usually serves up.
If Ford brought the Mondeo over here with that interior I would be first in line for one.

I have just found some new info and clear spy pictures of the Mondeo hatch From carscoop.blogspot.com.
(Quote from carscoop.blogspot.com reporter) "Just got my hands on a bunch of new 2007 Ford Mondeo pictures including some straight from the James Bond Casino Royal movie set that will open in cinemas worldwide on November 17. According to Ford, although 007 (played by Daniel Craig) will use an Aston Martin as his personal vehicle, the new Mondeo will be the first car to appear in the film as Bond drive's to a hotel after arriving in the Bahamas on the trail of a terrorist cell. The Mondeo featured in the movie is a specially-built 5-door example Ford's upcoming mid-size sedan, fitted with a sports bodykit. But despite its near to production looks, this is not a real car: it's a look-alike (drivable though), made from wood and fiberglass! It was constructed by hand at Ford of Europe's Design Studio in Cologne, Germany, in January, 2006 and it was then shipped under great secrecy to the filming location in the Bahamas, where the short driving sequence was filmed". (Martin Smith quote) "The new Mondeo was essentially still on the drawing board when we were asked to supply the vehicle for filming in February 2006," said Martin Smith, Ford of Europe's Executive Director for Design. "As volume production for the car doesn't start until the second quarter of 2007, we had to create a one-off, driveable model based around a design studio property!" "This team normally builds the clay and fiberglass models of all of our future products, so they are used to demanding timeframes and making full-scale models look like real vehicles," Smith added. |

I wish I could build that from 'wood and fibreglass'.

I knew it would be a pre-production build, but wood?. Bloody hell there really have been some financial cut-backs at Ford lately! haha. So I imagine there will be some minor changes to the bodykit, going from this to the production version.
I think it looks best from the side profile. In terms of size I've heard it will close to the Aurion/Camry, putting it uncomfortably close to the Falcon? I'm not 100% sure. **New pictures on previous page** |

That rear shot almost looks like a Reanult Megane. Otherwise its nice.
Whats with car makers these days making huge boots at the cost of looks. It's another WEDGE!!

In the Daily Telegraph this morning, there's an interview with Tom Gorman stating that they are looking at getting the new Mondeo over here, the diesel version in particular, I tried to find the equivalent article on carsguide but wasn't there, they would aim to price between the Camry and Honda Accord Euro.

Polites in 2001:
"One of the tough calls has been to step away from Mondeo. The C/D market in which Mondeo competes is in decline. From 10.6% of the passenger industry in 1996, it's dropped to 8.3% in 99 and is currently running at 7.1% for 2000. Furthermore, it's forecast to drop further over the next few years, to around 5% in 2003. So while we continue to support Mondeo in the Australian marketplace, we won't be taking the new model next year. "We don't want to be devoting resources to a market segment that's in serious decline if there are other more compelling sectors that we can concentrate on – and there are. We need to concentrate on the market areas that are in line with projected customer preferences and changes in the fast-moving global automotive market |

At that time, there was no Honda Euro, No Mazda 6, a the cardigan was even worse than it was now... Lets just say, it appears private buyers are moving towards a big car that can still be economical. 6 cylinder isnt always required by private buyers any more.....
