Sounds like the Capa Flash Tuner.
http://www.capa.com.au/ford_flash_tuner.htm
I think your looking around the $600.00 mark for the chip + around the same for tuning time.

The EA chip is constantly plugged into the ECU and has a switch you toggle through the maps with.

The BA flash tuners plug into the diagnostic port you select 1 of 4 maps to download, wait 30 seconds and disconnect flash tuner. So theres no switch to change maps in real time.

Thats what i understand of the flash tuners anyway....

Backwards-engineered TwEEcer? sounds exactly the same, but about half the price.

Could be a good option for people that cant get a live-tuned chiptorque chip.

Yes, I know haw the flash tuner works, as I have one. But more to the point KPA said that with the EA to BF edit software you and swap tune on the go.. What I was referringto is, is the an update to the software that alow you to do this with the Flash tuner.. Or is it only available with the older chips????

Get me drift _2:

I just assumed the factory ecu can only store one tune at a time, thus unless you kept the flash tuner plugged in to the ECU at all times like the chips you wouldn't be able to swap the tune on the go...

The actual programming for E-series cars (ie, fuel and spark requirements) is kept on the actual flash tuner - If you unplug it the car reverts to whatever tune Ford put in there.

On BA onwards the actual fuel/spark maps inside the ECU are changed, so you can remove the flash tuner and the car will still have the non-standard tune in it.

The E-series edit is pretty much a TwEECer or Chiptorque chip, the B-series one is like LS1Edit.

Bingo! It is TwEECer with AUS ECU support. Should be a good thing.

its probably the only way it can have 4 tunes at the one time seeing as the cars cpu cant store new programs.
