Question Beginner EL Fairmont

I've got an EL Fairmont and i don't know much about cars but i wouldn't mind knowing what can and can't be done to this model.

It is also my first ford i've ever owned and i'm really happy with it so far.
I want to lower the car so it looks a little better but i still would like to keep practicality. I only want to have some basic 5 point rims and tyres to suit.

From looking at the car my thoughts would be that 2" is about all that can be taken off before i'll start scraping the guards coming and going around town. The back sits a little higher than the front which i'd like to make it like the EF which appears to be flat from front to back.

Some of my friends with newer models have fitted cold air thingies and a few other tidbits, is there anything i can do to mine to help its performance?

a silly question but what KW does my car have? Fairmont 4l 6cyl. Not ghia

if your looking to lower your car, but if you drive around town alot, i recommend some kingspring super lows on pedders shockers, i just installed on in a friends car, as well it makes it looks good, he still manages to get around town without problems

as for CAI, probly put a K&N flat panel filter on, but if you want to stuff around with it more, go get a pod filter, but in my opinion i dont notice much difference unless its open up

EF/L 157kws at the flywheel if i can remember correctly

I have the EL Fairmont ghia. Had King superlows but was too low (minor defect notice) i then tried Dobinson lows and IMO looks great but travels alot smoother than the Kings. The Fairmonts are a little heavier than the Gli so be careful if you go for superlows esecially on your P's (cop bait) also you will hate speed humps with mates in the car.

get a cam but dont tell anyone you have one in,

head porting or tickford head, keep quiet,

3.45 lsd out of a tickford diff,

no one can see you have done anything to the car but she will go well then you can do things like extractors and cat back exhaust
