Default ef xr6 will not idle, any ideas?

my EF XR6 will not run/idle at anything below 1000rpm if you hold the throttle open a bit it does run(above 1000 rpm), drove the car yesterday all was good.
misses got in to drive it today bang no idle!

anyone have an idea on what it is, or how to trace what might be causing the problem?

so it completely stalls under 1000rpm? my bet is the (TPS)throttle positioning system i think thats wat it stands. it failed on a car ive driven had to brake and accelerate at the same time just to get it home!

I had a similar sounding issue with mine about a year and half ago. It was something within the computer not functioning correctly anymore and throwing it all out of whack (but not constantly).

From memory it wasn't a huge amount to fix (pretty sure it was around $100 or so).

Good luck

why pay $300 if you get any eseries computer they all have the ics driver ic
inside remove it and fit it to your xr computer it will need to be desoldered
and then resoldered into the xr computer now its the chip closest to the plug
on the right hand side when looking into computer when holding the plug up
its an easy job if you have any soldering knolage i have done this and it works fine it cost me an ea mpi computer and 20 mins
