Have the EL Fairmont Ghia, with the premium sound.
I am looking to upgrade my system with aftermarket stuff but want to utilise my factory speaker positions as much as possible. I can find only 5 of the 9 speakers i supposedly have (Sub, 2 on parcel shelf, 2 in front doors), can anyone enlighten me as to where the other 4 speakers are? also what would you recommend to get, don't want to spend bucket loads. |

Get one of these questions every month..
OK here we go again.. LOL.. 2 Tweeters in the dash 2 mid/bass in doors 2 2way in parcel shelf 1 sub Now Ford decided they would get technical and call a 2 way speaker 2 speakers.. tricks people all the time.. LOL.. SO... 2 Tweeters + 2 mid/bass + 2 tweeter in 2way + 2 mid/bass in 2way + 1 sub = 9 Hope this helps guys.. Cheers, Nik

No tweeters aren't all the same size.. best to rip the old ones out and get one similar size.. i dunno bout EL's but on the EA-ED there is a panel up below windscreen with 2 rouns air vent looking doovas.. they house the tweeters.. use a hex bit to undo the 2 screws holding the panel on and there is 3 - 5 clips holding it on.. just keep jiggling it till it comes loose.. tweeters are mounted on there own bracket..
See how ya go.. Cheers, Nik

with your premium sound system can you tell me the part number on the bottom of the speakers in the parcel shelf. do you have a pic of them . i have the same system however i am trying to put it back in the car but im not sure which speakers are for the front and which are for the back as they are diferent. what colour is the clip for the wiring... is it a black clip or a white one (for the parcel shelf rear speakers) what colour clip is on the speaker too.

however, the rear speakers are 2way and the front speakers are not. front has the 2 speakers (tweeters) under dash and 2 in the doors rear has the 2 2way and sub in the parcel shelf. |

One must be careful when distinguishing the term 'speakers' with 'speaker elements'.
