Am I the only one, or does anyone else have a mrs's that cuts sick when you use the kitchen instead of the garage?
How hot should I be baking before the plenum will warp?

I painted it, but I wanted a special effect from the quick drying.
I did it all in blue, let it dry a little, then the tops of the arches were frosted in white fairly thickly, so by putting it in the oven and drying the white rapidly, hopefully it will crack a little and expose the blue underneath and give the appearance of broken frosted ice on the top of my manifold. Hopefuly the cooler look keeps the air cooler too coz I used heat reducer exhaust paint. Only problem was the kaos when the other half discovered what I was up to in the kitchen (she thought I was cooking tea - Didnt she get a pleasent surprise!) PS - Im prety sure the engine bay gets hotter than the oven does with the door open, but just to be on the safe side, does anyone know how much temperature these things will stand - I dont want it warping on me

ahhhh spewin, I didnt realise that the VCT manifold had a different MAP sensor. I took the manifold off of my spare parts car which is a reguar AU1 so that I could still drive the other one while I was messin around with the painting of it, but then when I went to put it on the VCT motor, I realised the map sensor doesnt plug in. The VCT has a 3 prong plug and the AU1 has a 4 prong.
The position of the holes to screw it in on the 2 manifolds were both different too, so I had to do a bit of butchering (err, I mean 'customising') to get it swapped. Hopefuly theres no vacuum leak in the 'customised' positioning, but it looks good at least.

I'll get a pic today. the car its in that will be pictured, is not the car its gonna end up on. Im doing up the engine bay and body of another car, and then Ill just transplant the motor once the engine bay is finished.

and heres the end result.....
You may be thinking "Why Bother on that engine bay?" but its not staying in that car, its all being transplanted into a freshly painted bright blue one (thats once I get round to painting it!). Im just using the chassis in the photos as my trial run for ideas, so I get a smooth run on the good one. - I just looked at the photos, and you cant realy see the effect on the top because of the glare on my phones camera, but by puting it in the oven, the top of the white cracked and exposed the blue underneath, which made it look like breaking ice caps on the top which would have been way to hard to do with an airbrush.
