Yeah you should get a small increase in power and throttle response. Just make it down low & out of sight.

I did this recently, about a 70mm hole in the front of the airbox and fitted a flex line to a gap in the bumper and id does certainly make a difference, torque wise any way.The amount of air it sucks at idle is surprising ,i have the xr8 intake tube with a ram plate from the grill as well.

here is what i did to mine http://www.fordforums.com.au/attachm...chmentid=29714 it was just a PVC fitting from bunnings and I plastic welded it in then used vinyl spray to make it black everyone on here will say don't plastic weld it as it will crack within 2 weeks well that was done about 6 weeks ago no cracks and works well it's a fiddly job but worth it

This mod has the potential for 50 to 100rwkw increase and is totally worth it. OK, in conjunction with a turbo or supercharger, otherwise at best it's worth 1rwkw, but does help improve induction noise and throttle response. Do not do this mod if you have LPG with a balance pipe though, unless the balance pipe is mounted in the airflow.

NO I havent taken any pics yet,but its this easy ,find some duct, set your holesaw to that size and drill a hole in the from of the box,fit the duct in the hole and channel it where ever you think water wont suck up into your box.

I dont think it helped my fuel economy figures though so,expect an small increase in fuel consumption. The price we pay :

The way i done it is best, leaving the hole open in the engine bay is pointless which ive seen done b4, u gotta pipe it to the front of the car where the air is which obviously channels the air to the box. Easy as took about 20mins with 3inch Holesaw and drill. Got that white piece from bunnings in the Gutter section. Pipe from Autobarn all up Cost 30$.

G&D reckon there is a high-pressure zone behind the headlight. If you duct around the headlight to behind the grille, you are bypassing any ramcharge effect from this high pressure zone.

Done it to mine, that and another little tweak (no ecu change or anything) netted 6rwkws, dyno'd both times within 10 mins.

Just do it. For the sound alone.

all im saying is i culd feel the car go a little better, the induction noise is loud and the car revs better, throttle response is much crispier.

Ive done it to the ute and combined with the big SS snorkel Ive got it makes one hell of a nice sound, really deep and when you boot it it roars, makes the Wheezer sound great.

Performance wise, bugger all.
