Default AU XR8 Cruise Control

G'Day All,

I hope someone here can help me out. I have an issue with my Cruise Control in that it will arm but not engage. It was working well and then just started not to engage and then it would ... now it wont engage at all even thought the Dash light says the Cruise is active. The problem is it wont set.

I have had the car for about 4 years now and it has almost 140,000 Klms on it. Apparently it is an ex-police car as well as it has the police instrument cluster in it as well.

I am inclined to change the CC module. Any info would be good thanks.

Try the brake pressure switch on the side of the master cylinder. I had the same problem with my EL. Swapped the standard plug which is a horrible loose fit for a plug from a fuel injector. Nice tight fit.

Check to make sure the brake lights are working. If one (or both) are blown, they may play havoc with the cruise. Had this problem on my SR sedan. Cruise would activate, but not set the speed or anything else. Changed one brake light and voila, all sorted!

All the best with it.

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I can tell you that the brake lights all work. So I will check the plug as suggested. Thanks for the info...
