Default Alloy overflow tank

Hi,

Recently I purchased a alloy overflow tank from a well known brand direct. I was not happy with the finish and returned it. I have recieved the tank back and am still not happy. There are lots of marks/scratches in the alloy. Am I too pickey or most peoples better? Please post comments and/or pics here. I will post mine at a later date.

Thanks

Was it an PWR tank or another brand? I have a PWR tank fitted and the finish was quite good. The overflow cap and how good that works however is another matter! They aren't cheap so I can understand your frustration. Where is it marked?

Got this the other week from BPT...cost me $380+$12 (for the cap)

A little expensive but I was having problems with the plastic piece of crap that Ford makes so decided to upgrade to this.

Should get around to polishing it one day...

The BPT items imo are well constructed. The proof is shown when they are polished up.

I'm have no doubt they (BPT units) are well built. I went the PWR route due to their finish which I was quite impressed with. It's a more highly polished finish, but this can also make scratches more obvious.

Thanks for the replies and pics. Mine is a PWR unit. It hasn't been a very smooth process but I can now happily say that they are doing what is required to fix the issue and I am more than impressed by there after sales service. Sometimes things don't go as planned but it is what you do to fix the problem that makes the difference.

I had the welds linished back and the bend lines polished out.

This is the end result

That looks the business, what is involved with getting the welds linished back and what do you have to be aware off?
