Default Another EA T5 bites the dust

Well it was bound to happen eventually. Driving home from work this morning I stuck the boot into the EL a bit went to throw it in second and bang, second gear met the housing... and the rest of the box! : Managed to get it to my old mans so we can throw another (read 5th) box into it. Ah well at least I found a decent box out of a EL XR6 for a good price. That'll teach me to give her curry :

That's no good, I'd consider fully rebuilding a transmission rather than trying one's luck with second hand items all the time. Maybe a T56. :P

I have killed 2 T5's behind stock engines in my EA and EB!!

I hope this EL XR6 box I'm getting for the EF on the weekend isn't built of glass like the last 2, because the EF has a lot more grunt than what the other 2 did.

ouch - 5 boxes!!

EA boxes are weak, but does anyone know what the strength of the XG/XH ute boxes are like. I have one in my car (XG i think) and it is holding up really well. The shift quality is awsome for a T5, doesnt make any noise at all. It has been behind my engine now for 15 months without fault (lots of dyno/hard driving and a trip to the drags). Should I be worried?

Mine wasn't noisy...until it went bang... so I had no prior warning therefore it wasn't really my fault, well that's the story i'm sticking to anyways. And I must remember clutch BEFORE gear change that might help a little lol.
