My 2c.
Hate slim plates on Eseries. The front bar and bootlid are designed for standard plates, and they look best that way.

On EF/EL, I'd definately stick with the full sized plates. On EA-ED, you can get away with slimline front (I got the slimline front, due to the Scorcher bar), but really, fullsize ftw

Get one of each DRHEMI, I've got full size on the back to fill in the boot garnish, but slimline on the front defiantly looks better.

I prefer full sized number plates on the EF/L... I have kept full size on mine... I just put some of those "euro" style number plate protectors on em with the little black lines that run through the middle... Look pretty nice. Should dig up a pic for ya.
Josh.

I regret getting slim line for the front of mine.. will be ordering regular size very soon, but waiting till the car is painted before I bother.
