Default Engine Replacement

ok not to sure when im going to do this, simply cuz i have no idea whats involved or how much it will cost, but i want the 3.9L outta there and replaced with a 4.0, can anyone advise me on which would be the best engine swap for the old eb, and roughly how much it will cost to have this done. if its going to be under a grand then thats great but i really don't want to be payin anymore then that, or if you have any other options for me post them up. my main objective is the engine either replace or rebuild.

cheers all

Out of interest, what's wrong with the 3.9 you've got? If it's stuffed, then fair enough regarding replacing with a 4.0, but if you've got a healthy 3.9, mod it, don't replace it ;)

You right dave, the difference between the 3.9 bottom end and 4.0 bottom end is peanuts. unless the bottom end is flogged like mine was (it had no rings) then change but id look at modding your motor.

Mate, if you get someone else to do it you're going to be looking at huge money.

Better off to get a 5.0L Windsor put in there for $2500-$2800

The diff between the motors is nothing, the only main thing to do is chuck the EA head (with the wonderful swirl inside) for an EB onwards head.
