Default E-Series Superlows

Has anyone come across King Superlow springs to suit an E-series - eBay or otherwise? I can't seem to find any, onlineperformance only stocks King Lows.

If anyone has any, or sees any for sale, can you let me know?

Just found my receipt:

Fronts and rears (Part numbers KFFL-26SL and KFRL-27SL) were $128.61 each end, so all up $257.22 to dump it.

Motor traders - 64 Grand Junction Road Kilburn 8368-4800

Thats the sort of price i'm after! It's costing anywhere from 320-400 from distributors.

Thanks guys.

Next question - backyard stylez install - do I need any special tools? Can I do it in one night? I've got access to wrenches and sockets, normal tools etc.

Repco also stock them.

You'll need a spring compressor and a carton of beer.

You can do it without spring compressors, just undo the nut for the original spring once removed from car of course, and let it fly, then the SL's will be easy to fit, thats how we did the Lows in my car

But if you like to be safe and do it the easy way, then spring compressors at $35 a set are worth it

how much were they from repco?

...and if you use a spring compressor (you should really), wrap the springs with tape where the compressor hooks on so it wont slip

I had a mate to that for me at his place :togo:

He'd put the std spring & strut in a wood vice, do it up bloody tight, throw a heavy blanket over the spring, and gingerly undo the nut (facing a concrete wall) until it went BANG! Then he'd slip the replacement superlows on. Worked a treat, and I watched him do it from a distance while drinking his beer too :baby bott

:

It works!

That's what Sunny and I did with my car ;) Although we had the grass catcher from a lawn mower sitting in front to catch the nut. :voldar02:
