as the tittle suggests.i have just purchased my dream car a hk monaro(other wise my next car would have been ford,xy,coupe, ect).i have seen most of the so called holden threads.and they dont even come close.wtf.if the holden guys are supposibly that passionate about theyre cars why isn't there a web site even an 1/8 as good as this one?i am so ****ed off.it goes to show how good you ford guys really are.my boss and all the boys payed out on me for being a ford man.but when the crunch comes to the crunch where are the holden boys?sorry for the rambling maybee i should just sell the hk i just bought and buy a ford.
i so hate holden (why do i love hk's so much whyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!)

It’s the people that make a forum great, and luckily we have a pretty good mix here. Thank you kindly for your well thought out post.

The holden community is unfortunately no where near as great as fords.
I'm not sure why, maybe there are just more morons that take dominance over the good people, but the ford clubs and forums seem to just have a higher average IQ... It doesn't worry me all that much, as I don't have a holden, but mates who do are stuck with this problem.

You can always stay here and post it up on the builds thread (be ready for some flack from a small group of to$$ers sending Nasty PM's and even attacking your thread, but my understanding it the vast majority of people here dont care who built the bugger in the first place its all about the build now.

wicksy its original for a gts shell.im not rebuilding it to be original but 2 options.
option 1; get original black interior and paint and a kick *** drive train with full worked small or big block(muscle car look) option 2; paint whatever colour and custom trim tubbed big block(pro tourer style) i dont want to mess with the gts body but what option do i have as i can not find a decent standard body one for a reasonable price.

option 1 would be my pick. If nothing else it'll handle alot better and be more road friendly than tubbed with a fat ar$e........just my opinion of coarse

I am only a newbie here but i can take a flaming if it goes that way
as a Newbie I find this Forum a pain in the to navigate with all the sub forums and stuff but I would rather be here than on a **** **** Holden Forum. I am sure I will learn my way around here with time. Why do you love HK's so much??? Because no matter what badge you normally wear a HK is a true classic muscle car and no badge will ever change that. Maybe that is a part of the reason this Forum is better than any of the Holden ones, Us Ford owners can appreciate a nice car no matter what bread it is. Most of them Holden boys are too busy braggin about how Habib was doin Dohnuts in the middle of a school zone and that makes him a legend to even actually appreciate a car for what it is. |

i guess i'm a little sour about the whole thing too, cos ford isn't my first choice of manufacturer, though i do love my xy and appreciate all the little details in her. There are a couple of half decent mopar forums but nothing much to speak of for holdens apart from the oldholden website, which is good but i can't for the life of me work out how to access the forum part of that website. : Last edited by xy500; 19-08-2008 at 12:36 PM. |

i dont know why i love them so much.i was about nine when i walked into my big brothers bedroom and picked up a street machine mag and in it was a hk monaro and have just loved everything about them since.also around the same time i saw the best xy ever to grace the earth and its also imbeded in my brain(not as much as the hk though)it was the yellow xy in a garage round about early 90's late 80's awsome.

If I was ever going to build a Holden, the HK Monaro would be my number one choice.

I have an EH Panel Van as well as my two Fairlanes and some other cars and I find the forum at http://oldholden.com/ helpful; but it's just not as well set up as this in terms of thread management etc. - it's their dated forum technology rather than the people that makes it lag behind this one.
