My AU seems to have lost power most noticably in first gear, if i take off from the line holding first gear (its an auto) the engine rev's off its head but the car doesnt pull like it usually does! This is only when im kicking it in the guts though.
Any thoughts?

too much wheel spin ..... If its free revving with no power sounds like the trans might be slipping.

its a new trans mate :P its revving up like any normal car would when flooring it, however the acceleration to rev ratio isnt right.

Its the right trans fluid im guessing. Not Dextron III. Unfortunately with no dipstick you cant check the level, but it might be something to look into.

Check the trans fluid, there is a way. On the drivers side of the box there is a fill plug. Jack the car up and put it on stands so it is level and undo the fill plug. The fluid should be level with the bottom of the hole.

speaking of the tranny, it "clicks" alot, when i slow down to the lights, at about 5-10 km's it drops into 1st and i hear a loud tick from under the car. The auto seems to be a bit rough changing from 4 th to 3rd-2nd when i give it a small squirt.
Does this point to fluid?

You said it a Brand New Tranny. Take it back and get it looked at.
Why does it change back gears when slowing down?? It should never be rough, unless something is wrong.

Just havent been able to find time to take it back since its my everything car.
But yeah you can feel the car drop into first at about 10 km's an hour, makes brakeing difficult sometimes.

sounds like lack of fluid to me. Id make time to get it fixed mate if I were in your position. You could do more harm leaving it the way it is.
