i'd half expect a looney toons character to get out of the car, at which time i'd feel compelled to give him a stick of dynamite or produce a shot gun.
but maybe i'm reading it wrong. |

Hehe we arent far off, I know of the NT and WA with their Beat The Heat drag cars to get racing off the street, all the general Promotional stuff too (constable care, etc). Getting noticed is a good way of getting a message across, besides paint is cheap. Also in the NT Ammo could be bought from most servo's, tackle stores and camping shops, as well as crossbows (no licence required), slingshots too. Its closer to home then you think...

D.A.R.E means Drug Abuse Resistance Education. Basically an anti-drug program aimed at kids run by Police Officers so that explains the livery.

good on them, having a cop car that looks a little stupid to adults but relates to kids and help them stay off drugs then its worth it. haha and we cant talk here in VIC, our cops have hummers coz they apparently intimadate the crazy drunks in the streets who want a brawl. haha

Yeah... is that working? Did hummer supply them or did we foot that bill? Either way i'd love to know how much they both cost on fuel per night : Does anyone actually feel safer that these are around though? I just resent the waste of money, and i really don't think it's a 'positive' image for the police. |

Again with the winging about the 'wasting taxpayers money on the Hummer' VicPol, didn't pay for these vehicles, they were loaned to them by GM, same as the Yellow Monaro they had, and the Chrysler 300C, as well as most other promotional vehicles, as for the cost of fuel, they wouldn't be using any more fuel than a V8 TMU car.
Back on topic though, I think it's great, and good to see them doing something about the drugs in schools over there. BTW that car wouldn't be used as a response vehicle, it hasn't even got a light bar.

Holy that car certainly has something to do with drugs. How high were they when they came up with that thing?

Just like to second charliewool. I remember wandering into k mart years ago and finding the gun section unattended. This happened often. Whole rack of guns and a glass counter full of ammo.
There is no problem provided you don't have any nutcases handy ready to do the wrong thing. The guns ain't the problem, it's the attitude. When I was young more people had a rifle in the house than did not. No problem. Last edited by guzzis3; 07-11-2008 at 08:41 AM. Reason: spelling |

yep thats right. are you familiar with the expression "its not the computer its the user", well what may be more appropiate in this day and age is, "its not the gun, its the american schoolboy holding it"
or "its not the paint tin, its the clown holding it."

No-one comments about the lovely Porsches the Autobahn Poletzi use, with their fancy paintwork and tag team tactics. That's one I really think they should use here. Those guys are tough!! Don't mess with them.

I cant see our HP guys (and guyetts) driving one of those.
You couldn't swagger out of a car like that. It'd completely ruin their macho style and attitute
