Just fitted an adj. gear to a Waade 1604 in my Eb2 and the chain is rattling when i back off revs....Have checked and reset tensioner three times....Fitted gear at No 1 T.d.c and adv. to 3 degs....Wot now??? Might have to back it off???

I know it may not help but after a head shave, a au gasket and a waade 1004 cam, the only way to get my chain to stop rattling at anytime was to pull the tensioner out and winde it out manually, my car is running a total of 81 thou from standard so it had to be put out to the last notch, dont know if you will need to but thats the only way it runs
