Commodore based
Commodore - 4748
Ute- 1577

Falcon - 3410 Commodore - 4748

Amazing !!

That's a huge difference......I kinda thought that breach may have closed somewhat now that the FG has been out for a while and most people are aware of the crash safety ratings and dynamic advantages the Falc has over the Commodore...........

1700-odd of those Commodore sales were sportwagons...hence my query about how many Falcon wagons were sold (to get an idea of sedan v sedan sales)

Take away the wagon sales and it'll be closer...or add the terri sales.

Fair nuff..........add 1249 for terri to the falc figures and you get 4669.......very close but still no cigar.........

Its also worthy to note that Terri sales are static wheras I reckon the Commodore wagon sales will increase over the months.

...when you add up the numbers, Ford is only 400 units behind holden for Aussie made vehicles and both are way ahead of Toyota. (6570 Holden, 6162 Ford, 4666 Toyota). That's if the Kluger is made here- i'm not sure.

Kluger is not made here. They have considered it, but no word as yet. Since it's off the same Camry/Aurion platform could make sense to do it.

Therefore Toyota locally built sales are only 3311. Put another way, only 17% of their total sales are locals, 83% are imports. By comparison, Ford sells 62% local, just 38% imports.

Clearly 6162 Ford sales is at the plant capacity. They will most probably have to up the line rate from 260 (thanks Barraxr8!) as that limits output to 6000/month.

Ratt, Those figures you provided say Ford is down 0.9%, Holden up 1.7% etc. Is that compared to last month or June last year or YTD?

When you consider that ford hasnt discounted like holden it probably took more money than holden.

Captiva is korean designed and built stoney, so it shouldnt be counted against australian made and designed competition(i think thats the toopic of that particular conversation

It was in this link to GoAuto which is on the 2nd page. http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mell...2575E8000CC687

Toyota’s Aurion sales were 36.2 per cent down in June to 1628, representing a 15.0 per cent share of the big-six segment, with Honda’s Accord well behind on 745 sales and Nissan’s Maxima being some 426.2 per cent up on June 2008 with 321 sales. Launch stocks of Skoda’s new Superb out-numbered a total of four Grandeurs sold by Hyundai.

No, theres are still new Fairlanes sedans left 2007 plate, i think that must be nearly the end of them tho!

Ford dont build hearses.. They use to export wagons (done up as hearses) to UK but not for a long while now.

At our local dealer here, there whole yard is pretty 08 stock.

And with the tax bonus, as long as the order was placed before june 20 you still got the full benefit.

It would be included, otherwise vfacts would list the car in the break down of models.

Another interesting thing, is if you add the ute sales to Falcon and Commodore they are well on top of the charts. Its good to see Aussies cars still selling.

I also wonder what will happen once Holden releases the LPG Sportwagon (if it happens), surely the lack of LPG must be costing it some sales, especially as 60% of Falcon wagons are LPG.
