Hello all,
I just picked up a new MB Mondeo Titanium TDCi this week. Love the car. I read the following thread: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11256178 People in the thread mentioned auto door lock when the car is driven. I don't noticed that happening in my MB and is not mentioned in the manual. Does anyone know whether autolock is in the MB? By the way, I found that the MB has hill start assist but is not mentioned in the manual either.

It is a feature, it's called 'anti-hijack' for some reason, and it is in the IDS. There are threads here: http://www.fordmondeo.org/forum/show...807d0b153a3b4/ about getting it done in MB Mondeo's. I doubt hte IDS has changed between MA and MB.
I got it done in mine, took a bit of time as service people are generally lazy and if they can't see it straight away they can't do it. It's there, and I beleive it can be done. Use the UK site for evidence and show them this.

Why wouldn't you just lock the car manually when you get in the car? Much like putting on your seatbelt, by habbit I always lock my car once inside, just incase someone opens the door at traffic lights etc.

How can the car have hill-start assist? Its an automatic...
Only the Manual transmission cars can have that optioned in the EU. |

The service centre shouldn't charge to activate it as it's just another feature like the chime at 125 kmh. You can turn that off as well.... Nearly forgot, does the MB have the 'no seatbelt connected' chime. Get that switched off - it's great without it IMHO.

I got my MA done, when I got it the dealer didn't know about the setting, I had to say it was in the IDS. Mind you the new model Mondeo was still fairly new to Oz back then.

Thanks for the information on autolock. I will speak to the service guys when I take my car into 3000km check. Hopefully they will know what I am on about.
For hill launch/start assist, yes, my car has it and it is auto. Auto cars do roll back on hills too. I also checked with www.etis.ford.com with my VIN, it lists hill start being included.

I also got the dealer to do the autolock on mine at the last service, and find it very reassuring. The other thing I got done was the option to unlock only the drivers door first, then the other doors with the 2nd press.
