Question Extractors quote...

hey,

if you guys remember i posted asking about SVO Motorsport (east melb).

i dropped in the other day and got quoted for a set of HM Extractors for $410 isntalled. plus he said he could put a XH snorkel in for about $50, then also put in a K&N panel filter, dont know about the price. what is this pricing like? also if anyone has had HM extractors installed in their I6 could you please let me know how they perform.

i asked him how they compare to Pacemaker extractors and he said the HM have a little bit more down low, any thoughts?

i just recently got a major service and the air filter they put in at the mechanics was a bright yellow ryco one, how do they compare to the K&N?

cheers

Daniel

Don't know about HM extractors compared to other brands price-wise, but $410 fitted sounds ok! Don't bother spending the extra $50 on getting the XH snorkel fitted, do it yourself ;)

Also, you've just gotten a filter... no need to swap so soon ;) Ryco is like a normal brand AFAIK, nothing special about them. Leave the Ryco in for 10,000km before stepping up to a different type of filter.

Thanatos has HM Headers on his car.
they seem to do the job, are the $410 ones the ones that come WITH a cat?
$410 seems pretty decent for a set of extractors fitted.

Oh, ok, I thought it was a $50 fitting cost! Well if yuo can't source a snorkel for $20-30, then I spose just get it fitted professionally (I'm assuming it'll look good & not "hacked").

As for the cat costing $230... wtf?!? Mine cost $125 each. From memory the flanging got done for free, but this should normally be $50-ish above the normal cost of a cat (flanging is only done when you have a large exhaust, like 2.5" or 3" connecting up to the cat). So if you get a larger exhaust sometime in the future, the cat can get flanged at that point in time (or so is my understanding)

Anyone know what the prices are like for getting pacemakers or an equivalent type brand without having them fitted? I'd just as soon do it myself and save a bit of cash
